Top 10 Countries I Hope To Visit

Hello everybody!

Today I wanted to talk a little about a topic that I absolutely love: travel. I’m a bit of an adventurer at heart and have always wanted to see the world. Perhaps you feel the same way so I thought I’d go ahead and share with you the top ten countries that I hope to visit someday! These are all countries that I haven’t previously been to (there used to be countries on this list that I have since visited). My reasons for wanting to visit many of these countries are numerous, ranging from my love of particular cultures, to the draw of famous cities, to wanting to see and experience natural and man-made landscapes. From the Roman Colosseum, to the views of Santorini, the pyramids of Egypt, and the Hobbit-holes of New Zealand. These places have made my list, have they made yours?

The Countries:

Italy

India

Greece

Egypt

Australia

Thailand

New Zealand

Turkey

Peru

Russia

There are many more places that I’d like to visit, of course, but these are my top ten. If you live in or have visited any of these places, let me know in the comments below! If you’d like to hear more about what countries I have visited and my experiences there, let me know about that as well. I hope you enjoyed this post. Petit Vour Box Review: August 2015

Hello everybody!

So I recently decided to enroll in a subscription beauty box service! I’ve heard of boxes like Ipsy and Birchbox before, but kept wondering if there were any more natural alternatives. In case you’re wondering as well, there are! In fact, there are quite a few to choose from. After much deliberation, I decided to order my very first Petit Vour box!

Petit Vour is a completely vegan and cruelty-free subscription beauty box. Most (if not all) of the products they include in their boxes are completely natural and/or organic; many of them are even gluten-free! They include both samples and full-sized products within their boxes, making it a great value for only paying $15 per month!

I know that it is now September, but as I ordered my Petit Vour box at the very end of August, they decided to ship out my August box on the 31st. I received my box yesterday (the 4th) and have decided to do a little review for you all!

Full Box

Here is the box with all of the items that it came with! It included:

  • Two sample packets of JUARA Clove Flower & Turmeric Anti-Aging Serum (Full-size priced at $65)
  • One sample pot of Modern Minerals Finishing Glow in Tea Rose (Full-size priced at $20)
  • One full-sized tube of MyChelle Dermaceuticals Fruit Enzyme Scrub ($18)
  • One sample bottle of YAROK Feed Your Shine Hair Serum (Full-size priced at $27)
  • One sample packet of YAROK Feed Your Curls Defining Creme (Full-size priced at $37)

Card Front

When you open the box, the first thing you see is this card. The front of the card tells you the theme for that particular month. This months theme was “You’re Glowing” which seems like a great theme for August.

Card Back

The back of the card gives you some details about the products that are included in the box, including how to use them and their full-sized prices.

Samples

Scrub and Box

Scrub Solo

I also figured out what the approximate value of the box was by breaking down the price by product (based off of size given):

  • JUARA Serum was approximately $4.55 per sample for a total of about $9.10
  • Modern Minerals powder was $2.00
  • Feed Your Shine Serum was approximately $9.00
  • Feed Your Curls Creme was approximately $0.32
  • MyChelle Scrub was $18.00

This gives a total box value of about $38.42. This is 2.6 times the price of the box.

I’m going to go ahead and rate this box based off of affordability of the products, quality of the products, value of the box, and the size of the products that are included in the box.

Affordability of full-sized products: 3.2 out of 5

Quality of the products: 4.2 out of 5

Product size: 3.6 out of 5

Value of the box: 4 out of 5

After rating the box based off of these categories, my complete rating for the August 2015 Petit Vour Beauty Box is a:

3.75 out of 5.

I hope you found this review helpful! Thanks so much for reading and I’ll talk to you all soon! Don’t forget to like, comment, and follow my blog for more posts like this one!

Wedding Cakes & Desserts

Hello everybody!

I’m back again with another wedding post for you all! There are so many different aspects to think about when planning a wedding that I’ll probably end up doing one or two wedding posts per month until my own wedding day 🙂

Today I wanted to focus on ideas for your wedding cake as well as dessert alternatives. I have an interesting dilemma because I can’t eat gluten or dairy. So I’m left wondering if I should make a normal full-sized wedding cake knowing that I won’t be able to eat any of it or if I should choose a different option. I think what we might do is create a small gluten-free and dairy-free cake that my fiance and I can use for the cake-cutting ceremony, but make individual desserts for everybody else. There are many different options to choose from: cupcakes, parfaits, etc. I’m not completely sure which option we’re going to choose yet. Hopefully this post will help you (and me) narrow down the options a little bit and get a better idea of what your personal preference is.

The Cakes

Bird Cake

I think this one is pretty because it has a little bit of a more traditional look, but with a semi-quirky twist to it. Plus the colors just go so well together!

Lavender Grape Cake

I honestly think that this cake might be my favorite. I just love these colors sooooo much! You could line either a small cake or a full-sized cake with lavender and make it look super pretty.

Woody Floral Cake

Oh wow, this cake is so gorgeous! There’s definitely a very woodland-y theme going on here and it’s amazing. It’s a little too extravagant for my personal style, but this cake is definitely photo-worthy.

Berry Cake

Some may think that these types of cakes are ugly, but I actually think they’re really cute. I love it when cakes are dressed up with berries rather than frosting, plus it’s a lot healthier (and yummier, imo).

The Alternatives

Berry Tarts

Aren’t these little guys so cute! They’re perfect if you want to go for individual desserts. I think these ones have gluten in them but I’m sure you can probably find a gluten-free recipe.

Pies

I don’t think I’ve ever seen pies look so pretty. These are absolutely adorable and look so good! It would be super cute to put a bunch of different pies on the dessert table.

Berry Topped

These just look yummy to me. You could do some sort of parfait or even pudding. I think chia puddings can be really good and they’d make a nice dessert!

Crepes

Believe it or not, this “cake” is actually made out of crepes. What a neat idea! I think this is so cute and it would still be super yummy!

The Cake Toppers

Love Birds Cake Toppers

These cake toppers are slightly more traditional, but still super cute!

Elephant Cake Toppers

These cake toppers are a little bit more eclectic and somewhat bulky, but who doesn’t love elephants??

Owl Cake Toppers

I love these cake toppers. They are just so adorable and perfect for a winter wedding!

Deer Cake Toppers

I almost think these are my favorite cake toppers. They’re small, they add a touch of gold to your cake, and there’s both a buck and a doe; how cute!

Feeling a little better about your wedding cake and/or desserts? If you happen to have guests that have certain dietary requirements (like me), you could even put little cards in front of your desserts to let them know which ones are ok for them to eat. A good idea is to ask them on the RSVP card if there’s anything they can’t eat and then you can plan for it!

I hope you guys enjoyed today’s post. It was fun and super helpful for me to write. Talk to you all soon!

Fall Fashion 2015

Hey guys!

I’ve been starting to think about fall lately. I feel like summer is going to come to a close soon and that it will once again be time for comfy sweaters, dark lipsticks, and hot tea. One of the things that I’m really looking forward to in fall is the fashion, obviously. I’m really craving a shopping spree (if only I had the money…). Of course there’s no harm in doing a little online window shopping 😉 Here are some outfits that I found and liked. Some of them are more summery, but they can easily be worn in the fall when they’re paired with a nice sweater or jacket. All of these outfits were found on the Urban Outfitters and H&M websites.

What are you looking forward to most in fall? What’s your favorite fall look? Let me know in the comments below! Thanks for reading! I’ll talk to you all soon 🙂
